Haaland Is on Pace to Smash Salah’s FPL Record — Here’s the Math

Haaland on Track to Smash Salah’s FPL Record
Fantasy Football Fix 20 Oct. 2025

Is Erling Haaland on for a Record-Breaking FPL Season in 2025/26?

Erling Haaland’s dominance in Fantasy Premier League continues to reach new heights.

Most owned players in Fantasy Premier League

The Manchester City forward is now owned by 98.6% of the top 1 million managers, as shown in the Insight Live tool, and was captained by 92.9% in Gameweek 8 — rewarding them with 26 FPL points from two goals and three bonus points against Everton.

With other premium assets like Salah and Isak underwhelming, and Cole Palmer sidelined through injury, Haaland is as close to essential as it gets in FPL right now.

But could this season go beyond just dominance — and actually be a record-breaking one?

Haaland’s Start vs His Previous FPL Seasons

Here’s how Haaland’s first eight Gameweeks stack up across his three previous FPL campaigns:

  • 2025/26: 11 goals, 1 assist – 83 points
  • 2024/25: 10 goals, 0 assists – 69 points
  • 2023/24: 8 goals, 1 assist – 68 points
  • 2022/23: 14 goals, 2 assists – 89 points

Despite not matching his blistering 22/23 start, Haaland’s current trajectory puts him on course for something even more impressive overall.

Haaland stats for Fantasy Premier League

So far, he’s averaging 10.4 points per game, as shown in the Opta Heatmaps tool, and if he maintains that across a full 38-game season, he’d finish with over 394 points — a total that would obliterate his previous bests.

Haaland's FPL Finishes So Far

Since joining Manchester City, Haaland has never played a full 38-game Premier League season — which makes his totals even more remarkable:

  • 2022/23: 219 points from 35 games (36 goals, 10 assists)
  • 2023/24: 232 points from 31 games (27 goals, 8 assists)
  • 2024/25: 181 points from 31 games (22 goals, 3 assists)

Fitness could be the key difference this year. If Haaland stays injury-free, there’s every chance he could finally complete a full 38-game campaign — and push towards a never-before-seen points total in FPL history.

How Does That Compare to the All-Time FPL Greats?

Last season, Mohamed Salah set a new FPL record with 343 points, breaking his own previous record of 303 points from the 2017/18 campaign.

That total surpassed other legendary seasons such as Luis Suárez’s 295 points (2013/14) and Thierry Henry’s 271 points (2002/03).

Here’s a rundown of the highest-scoring FPL players per season since 2002:

  • 2002/03 – Thierry Henry: 271 pts
  • 2004/05 – Frank Lampard: 269 pts
  • 2007/08 – Cristiano Ronaldo: 283 pts
  • 2013/14 – Luis Suárez: 295 pts
  • 2014/15 – Eden Hazard: 233 pts
  • 2015/16 – Riyad Mahrez: 240 pts
  • 2016/17 – Alexis Sánchez: 264 pts
  • 2017/18 – Mohamed Salah: 303 pts
  • 2018/19 – Mohamed Salah: 259 pts
  • 2020/21 – Bruno Fernandes: 244 pts
  • 2021/22 – Mohamed Salah: 265 pts
  • 2022/23 – Erling Haaland: 272 pts
  • 2023/24 – Cole Palmer: 244 pts
  • 2024/25 – Mohamed Salah: 343 pts

If Haaland maintains his current pace, he wouldn’t just top that list — he’d redefine what’s possible in FPL scoring.

Verdict: A Record in Sight?

At 10.4 points per game, Haaland is outperforming every other FPL player in history at this stage of a season.

Whether he can stay fit and sustain that output is another matter — but if he does, he’s on course to obliterate Salah’s record of 343 points.

For FPL managers, it’s not just about owning him anymore — it’s about whether you can afford not to captain him every Gameweek.
