Top 5 Mid-Priced FPL Midfielders You Need in 2025/26

After breaking down the best £4.5m defenders in a previous blog, it’s time to turn our attention to mid-priced midfielders – the players who balance value and explosive potential in Fantasy Premier League.

Priced between £6.5m and £8.0m, these midfielders can often be season-defining, providing consistent returns without the premium price tag.

Here are the top 5 mid-priced midfielders for 2025/26!

5. Mohammed Kudus (£6.5m, Spurs): Early Bandwagon Potential

Kudus arrives at Spurs as a versatile attacking midfielder, capable of playing across the front line – a trait that should secure him consistent minutes.

His first Premier League campaign started brightly in 2023/24 but faded in 2024/25, producing five goals and four assists.

That output was lower than new teammates Johnson (11 goals), Maddison (9), Son and Kulusevski (both 7), according to the Opta Stats Sandbox. However, his 7.63 expected goals (xG) suggest he was unlucky not to score more.

Under Thomas Frank, Kudus could thrive in a more attacking role, especially with Spurs’ favourable early fixtures: Burnley (H), Bournemouth (H), West Ham (H), Wolves (H) and Leeds (A). This run ranks them 10th for attacking fixture difficulty in our Fixture Planner.

The Insight Live tool shows Kudus as the most popular midfielder in the £6.5m to £8.0m price bracket, with 26.8% ownership.

If Kudus hits the ground running, he could become one of FPL’s first major bandwagons… but if he doesn’t, he might just be the first player to drop in price.

4. Iliman Ndiaye (£6.5m, Everton): Bonus Point Magnet

Ndiaye looks like he could be incredible value at £6.5m after an impressive campaign where he scored nine goals, picked up 21 bonus points, and delivered strong underlying numbers (xG 7.01, xA 1.98).

Now reclassified as a midfielder, he offers multiple avenues to points:

  • Attacking returns from open play and penalties
  • Bonus points thanks to his all-round contributions
  • Defensive Contributions potential, having hit the threshold six times last season

Everton’s opening run is favourable, facing Leeds (A), Brighton (H), Wolves (A), Villa (H) and West Ham (H) in the first five Gameweeks.

This places the Toffees 9th for attacking fixture difficulty in our Fixture Planner tool.

Trying to save an extra £0.5m?

McNeil could be the answer. He missed a large chunk of last season through injury, so comparing the two Everton midfielders per 90 minutes gives a clearer picture.

  • Ndiaye leads for goals, xG and shots in the box
  • McNeil dominates in all other key stats, as highlighted in the Opta Heatmaps tool

3. Morgan Rogers (£7.0m, Aston Villa): Reliable and Versatile

Rogers was last season’s ultimate budget hero, delivering eight goals and 11 assists at just £5.0m.

He ranked among the top 10 midfielders for big chances created (14) and was almost ever-present, starting 37 matches and playing 3,129 minutes – the most of any outfield Villa player, with only goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez (3,195) featuring more.

Now priced at £7.0m, Rogers still offers strong value considering Villa’s attacking potential. Their first five fixtures include Palace (H) and Sunderland (A), although they rank 17th for attacking fixture difficulty in our Fixture Planner.

He’s currently selected by 53.8% of Elite XI: Team Reveal managers, a group boasting 80 combined top 10k finishes.

With his versatility and nailed starting role under Unai Emery, Rogers looks a reliable mid-priced option for managers seeking steady, consistent returns.

2. Justin Kluivert (£7.0m, Bournemouth): Clinical and on Set Pieces

Kluivert enjoyed an impressive 2024/25 season, scoring 12 goals and six assists in just 29 appearances, underlining his efficiency in front of goal. Despite this, he’s currently in only 5.1% of teams, earning him a spot in our Differential XI article earlier today.

On penalties and some set pieces, Kluivert has multiple avenues to points.

Bournemouth’s fixtures after their opening trip to Liverpool (A) are appealing: Wolves (H), Spurs (A), Brighton (H) and Leeds (A). This run ranks them 3rd for attacking fixture difficulty in the Fixture Planner over the first five Gameweeks.

With his clinical finishing and favourable schedule, Kluivert has all the ingredients to become one of the standout mid-priced midfielders in the early weeks of 2025/26.

1. Eberechi Eze (£7.5m, Crystal Palace): The Premium of the Mid-Priced Bracket

Eze ended last season in red-hot form, producing a total of eight goals and eight assists for the season. From Gameweek 30 onwards, no midfielder scored more than his six goals.

FPL midfielders predicted points

He’s nailed to start, takes penalties and set pieces, and ranks third for predicted points (23.1) over the first five Gameweeks in the Predicted Points & Stats tool — behind only Palmer and Salah among midfielders.

Palace’s opening fixtures — Forest (H), Sunderland (H), West Ham (A) — give Eze strong early appeal. The Fixture Planner places the Eagles 8th for attacking difficulty over the first five Gameweeks.

Among mid-priced options, Eze offers the ideal combination of reliability and explosiveness. He even features in the Artificial Intelligence Team Reveal within the Big Data: Team Reveal tool, alongside Rogers, who we highlighted earlier.

This AI team will continue to update throughout pre-season as new data and news emerges, helping managers identify the best Gameweek 1 lineup according to AI.

Final Thoughts

Mid-priced midfielders are often the glue of a successful FPL squad, bridging the gap between budget enablers and premium powerhouses.

Whether you want steady returns from Rogers and Ndiaye or explosive potential from Kluivert and Eze, these five are standout options for 2025/26.
