DraftKings fantasy football is very similar to Fantasy Premier League (FPL), but does not require full-time commitment like FPL as it offers year round games that you can play as little or as much as you want.

Here are our fix standout selections for the DraftKings' gameweek eighteen daily contest (Saturday 22nd December):

GK / Dubravka / $5,200

Newcastle host bottom of the league Fulham in gameweek 18, and the Magpies’ 'keeper is our recommendation for your goalkeeper slot this week. As always, our attention is focused on the saves potential of the keepers given the DraftKings’ point scoring system rewarding keepers with 2 points per save, on top of 5 for a clean sheet. The Croatian has made 49 saves, the seventh most in the league while he has also kept five clean sheets, which only Lloris (six), Ederson (eight), Kepa (eight) and Alisson (10) have topped. Only Cardiff have scored fewer goals (five) on their travels than the Cottagers’ six and only Brighton (22), Cardiff (21) and Burnley (16) have landed fewer shots on target (SoT) than their 27. Our Fix predicted points and stats feature suggests that Newcastle have a 41% chance of a clean sheet and for additional informative data on Goalkeepers, see our bespoke DraftKings’ custom stats table here.

D / Walker / $4,600

The Champions got back to winning ways after defeating Everton at the Etihad and would be confident of notching another win as they square up against Crystal Palace in gameweek 18. Only Liverpool (10) have kept more clean sheets than Man. City’s eight, and the Champions have conceded only 10 goals in their 18 matches so far. Walker was left out of the midweek Carabao Cup lineup, so his likelihood of starting this game is very high, and the Englishman averages two crosses (+0.75 points in Draftkings), 1.4 interceptions (+0.5 points in DraftKings), 0.5 clean sheets (+3 points in DraftKings), one tackle (+1 point in DraftKings) and 0.7 shots (+1 point in DraftKings) per match, indicating his multiple routes for points in this format. Their opponents Palace have scored 14 goals in total, only Huddersfield have scored fewer with 10. Our Fix predicted points and stats feature estimates a 57% probability of Man. City keeping a clean sheet this week and for more data like this you can access this custom stats table here

M / Fraser / $8,500

Bournemouth host a Brighton side that had the worst away record in the division last year, and will have pencilled this game down as a must win given that they face away trips to Tottenham, Man. United and Everton over their next four games. Only Ritchie has averaged more crosses (+0.75 points in DraftKings) per match than Fraser’s 6.1, and the diminutive winger also averages an assist (+6 points in DraftKings) nearly every other game with 0.4, and 1.2 shots (+1 point in DraftKings) per match. Only Fulham (112) and Burnley (121) have allowed opponents more shots in the box (SiB) than Brighton’s 103 on their travels, and the Seagulls have conceded 14 away goals in their nine matches. Our Fix predicted points and stats feature predicts Brighton to have the only a 22% probability of a clean sheet this weekend, so the Scot represents a great value option, and for more data like this you can access this custom stats table here.

F /Rondón / $7,800

With a home fixture against one of the leakiest defences in Premier League history, Rondón is our selection for your forward slot this weekend’s matches. Over the last six gameweeks Rondón tops the forwards custom stats table for goals (four), shots (23), SiB (16) and SoT (nine), beating the likes of Kane, Firmino and Aubameyang and was involed in 71% of Newcastle’s goals over this period. The Venezuelan averages 2.4 shots per game, and would be relishing the prospect of facing a defence that has allowed opponents 65 SoT and 32 ‘big chances’ and shipped 24 goals in nine away matches, the worst in the league. Our Fix predicted points and stats feature estimates only a 16% probability of a Fulham clean sheet, and given Newcastle face Liverpool, Man. United and Chelsea in three of their next four fixtures after this weekend, Benitez is likely to go all out to get the win here, with Rondón spearheading the charge. The Venezuelan is a great pick to boost your chances of winning prize money, and more data like this you can access this custom stats table here

How to play DraftKings Fantasy Football

For those unaccustomed to this fantastic daily cash game, you are required to select eight players with a $50,000 salary cap. The structure is as follows;

GK -- D x2 -- M x2 -- F x2 -- UTIL (utility player)

The utility player can be either a D (Defender), M (Midfielder) or F (Forward) and will score points in the same way as the other selections. However, you will notice your budget has been spread thin, so, this is all about finding a hidden gem that could score well. For example, a defender that is not typically a big scorer but is playing against a team that struggle to score, therefore heightening the chance of (clean sheet, tackles won, passed intercepted etc.) points.

The format allows you the luxury of entering into a variety of contests including beginner tournaments/leagues, head to heads (against one other opponent), 50/50s (where you win if you finish in the top half) and many more.

The full scoring breakdown is as follows:
