DraftKings fantasy football is very similiar to Fantasy Premier League (FPL), but does not require full-time commitment like FPL as it offers year round games that you can play as little or as much as you want.

Here are our fix standout selections for the DraftKings' gameweek seventeen daily contest (Saturday 15th December):

GK / Lloris / $6,000

Spurs host a Burnley side that has only scored six goals on their travels, the second lowest in the league, and the French World Cup winner is our pick for your goalkeeper slot. As always, our attention is focused on the saves potential of the keepers given the DraftKings’ point scoring system rewarding keepers with 2 points per save, on top of 5 for a clean sheet. Lloris has made more saves (40) than any other ‘top six’ goalkeeper bar De Gea (54), highlighting his potential for a high score this week. No team has taken fewer shots on target (SoT) than Burnley’s 16 on their travels, and only Fulham (37) have attempted fewer shots in the box (SiB) than their 38. Our Fix predicted points and stats feature suggests that Spurs have a 54% chance of a clean sheet, the highest from this weekend’s set of matches and for additional informative data on Goalkeepers, see our bespoke DraftKings’ custom stats table here.

D / Holebas / $6,500

Watford were unlucky not to pick up all three points against Everton in gameweek 16, and will be looking to get back to winning ways as they welcome Cardiff to Vicarage Road in gameweek 17. Although the Hornets have not kept a clean sheet in the last six gameweeks, the visit of the Bluebirds presents an opportunity to invest in Holebas, a defender who has created 14 chances (+6 points in DraftKings for an assist) in home matches, second only to Digne (24) amongst defenders. No defender averages more than the Greek’s 9.7 crosses per game (+0.75 points in DraftKings), and he also averages 0.7 interceptions (+0.5 in DraftKings), 1.5 tackles won (+1 point in DraftKings) and 0.5 goal attempts per match (+1 point in DraftKings). Cardiff have only scored three goals on their travels, the lowest in the league, and only Burnley (16) have managed fewer SoT than their 18. Our Fix predicted points and stats feature estimates a 39% probability of Watford keeping a clean sheet this week and for more data like this you can access this custom stats table here.

M / Son / $9,500

The visit of a leaky Burnley defence has lead us to recommend the versatile Son, who can be used as a midfielder or a forward in the DraftKings format. Over the last four gameweeks, no midfielder has fired in more SoT than the South Korean (nine), and only Salah has scored more goals (four) than his three. With goals counting for +10 points in the DraftKings format, an eye for goal is an invaluable attribute, with Son averaging 2.2 shots and 0.9 SoT per game. Over the aforementioned period only Liverpool have scored more goals (11) than Spurs 10, with Son playing a part in four of those, with three goals and an assist while only Man. United (28) have taken more SoT than Spurs (25). No team has conceded more SiB than Burnley’s 192 this season, and only Fulham (40) have conceded more goals than the Clarets’ 32. Our Fix predicted points and stats feature predicts Burnley to have the lowest probability of a clean sheet this weekend with only 8%, so backing Son to get on the scoresheet seems a good shout, and for more data like this you can access this custom stats table here.

F / Jiménez / $8,400

Wolves will be looking to build on the momentum gained from their last minute winner at Newcastle going into this fixture with the Cherries and given that no side has shipped more goals than Bournemouth’s 10 over the last four gameweeks, Jiménez is our forward recommendation for this week. The Mexican has been Wolves primary attacking threat, and has played a part in ten of their seventeen goals so far, with four goals and six assists. He averages 0.8 crosses (+1 point in DraftKings), 3.1 shots and 1.2 SoT per game, and only Firmino (21) and Pérez (21) have created more chances than the Mexican’s 20. No team has allowed opponents more SiB than Bournemouth’s 46 over the last four gameweeks, eight of which were ‘big chances’, highlighting the potential of the Mexican as an explosive asset to win you that prize money this weekend.  Our Fix predicted points and stats feature estimates only a 26% probability of a Cherries clean sheet, and for more data like this you can access this custom stats table here

How to play DraftKings Fantasy Football

For those unaccustomed to this fantastic daily cash game, you are required to select eight players with a $50,000 salary cap. The structure is as follows;

GK -- D x2 -- M x2 -- F x2 -- UTIL (utility player)

The utility player can be either a D (Defender), M (Midfielder) or F (Forward) and will score points in the same way as the other selections. However, you will notice your budget has been spread thin, so, this is all about finding a hidden gem that could score well. For example, a defender that is not typically a big scorer but is playing against a team that struggle to score, therefore heightening the chance of (clean sheet, tackles won, passed intercepted etc.) points.

The format allows you the luxury of entering into a variety of contests including beginner tournaments/leagues, head to heads (against one other opponent), 50/50s (where you win if you finish in the top half) and many more.

The full scoring breakdown is as follows:
