DraftKings fantasy football is very similiar to Fantasy Premier League (FPL), but does not require full-time commitment like FPL as it offers year round games that you can play as little or as much as you want.
Here are our fix standout selections for the DraftKings' gameweek 14 daily contest (Saturday 1st December):
Brighton visit goal-shy Huddersfield in gameweek 14, and Ryan presents outstanding value considering that only Fabianski (53) and Hart (55) have made more saves than the Australian (48). As always our attention is focused on the saves potential of the keepers given the DraftKings’ point scoring system rewarding keepers with 2 points per save, on top of 5 for a clean sheet. On the three occasions that Ryan has kept a clean sheet, he made four, six and seven saves respectively, illustrating his high point ceiling in this format. Our Fix predicted points and stats feature suggests that Brighton have a 47% chance of a clean sheet, and only Ederson has better odds, but costs far more and has less potential for save points. For additional informative data on Goalkeepers, see our bespoke DraftKings’ custom stats table here.
Palace are yet to pick up a win on home soil but their defensive stats are impressive. Only five teams have allowed opponents fewer SiB (shots in the box) than Palace’s 40 on home turf and only Chelsea, Leicester (both with 20), Man. City (14) and Liverpool (11) have allowed opponents fewer SoT (shots on target) than the Eagles' 21. Our Fix Algorithm backs Palace as the third likeliest to keep a clean sheet from this weekend's set of games, with a probability of 42% and it is easy to see why. Only Cardiff (33), Brighton (33) and Fulham (30) have attempted fewer SiB than the Clarets’ 34 on the road, and only Huddersfield have created fewer ‘big chances’ (4). The right-back has made more tackles (34) than any other FPL defender this season, and given that each of these actions add +1 to your DraftKings score, Wan-Bissaka presents an astute bargain option. For more data like this you can access this custom stats table here.
Man. City play Bournemouth at home, a fixture in which they have scored 13 goals over three encounters, and with seven goals and two assists against the Cherries over five matches, Sterling is the standout midfield pick from this week’s fixtures. With DraftKings awarding 1 point for a shot (and a further 1 point if it is on target), Sterling looks to be a great selection given that only Salah (18) has taken more SiB amongst midfielders on home turf. The DraftKings system awards 10 points per goal, another feather in his cap considering no midfielder has found the net more often than the Englishman. Our predicted points & stats feature backs the Champions to score 3.97 goals, more than any other side this weekend, and given that no team has fired in more SoT than their 36, Sterling warrants inclusion in your side. For more comparisons to other outfield players see our custom stats table created specifically for DraftKings here.
Vardy hosts a Watford side that shipped three goals to Liverpool in gameweek 13, and having got on the scoresheet with a well taken penalty, he will be looking to add to his four goals so far this season. Over the last four gameweeks, only Wolves (66), Chelsea (67) and Southampton (68) have taken more goal attempts than Leicester, with the Foxes creating a chance every six minutes. No team has taken more SiB than the Foxes 42 over this period, a statistic that bodes well for a striker like Vardy who takes most of his attempts in the penalty area, as evidenced by his high average Expected goals stats. DraftKings offers 1 point per shot, and an additional point for a shot on target, so he should be a great value selection to help you win cash this Saturday. Watford have only a 20% chance of a clean sheet as per our predicted points & stats feature, and for more stats see our custom stats table created specifically for DraftKings here.
For those unaccustomed to this fantastic daily cash game, you are required to select eight players with a $50,000 salary cap. The structure is as follows;
GK -- D x2 -- M x2 -- F x2 -- UTIL (utility player)
The utility player can be either a D (Defender), M (Midfielder) or F (Forward) and will score points in the same way as the other selections. However, you will notice your budget has been spread thin, so, this is all about finding a hidden gem that could score well. For example, a defender that is not typically a big scorer but is playing against a team that struggle to score, therefore heightening the chance of (clean sheet, tackles won, passed intercepted etc.) points.
The format allows you the luxury of entering into a variety of contests including beginner tournaments/leagues, head to heads (against one other opponent), 50/50s (where you win if you finish in the top half) and many more.
The full scoring breakdown is as follows:
