For those unaccustomed to this fantastic daily cash game, you are required to select eight players with a $50,000 salary cap. The structure is as follows;

GK -- D x2 -- M x2 -- F x2 -- UTIL (utility player)

The utility player can be either a D (Defender), M (Midfielder) or F (Forward) and will score points in the same way as the other selections. However, you will notice your budget has been spread thin, so, this is all about finding a hidden gem that could score well. For example, a defender that is not typically a big scorer but is playing against a team that struggle to score, therefore heightening the chance of (clean sheet, tackles won, passed intercepted etc.) points.

The format allows you the luxury of entering into a variety of contests including beginner tournaments/leagues, head to heads (against one other opponent), 50/50s (where you win if you finish in the top half) and many more.

Our recommendations to help you win some cash for Saturday 1st September are as follows:

GK / McCarthy / $5,000

McCarthy may be plying his trade away from home this week but he comes in at a reasonable price for a Goalkeeper that has performed well in DraftKings over the last few weeks with a fantasy points per game (FPPG) score of 8.3. The Southampton man has already made 14 saves in three games, ranking him joint-fourth across the league earning his owners 26 points for this performance alone. The Southampton stopper has also only conceded four goals in three games which ranks him joint-third of Goalkeepers eligible for Saturday’s contests. Given that you lose 2 points for each goal conceded this fills us with more confidence. Our Fix predicted points & stats feature suggests Southampton have a 24% chance of a clean sheet, a more promising forecast than candidates from Wolves, Huddersfield, Fulham, Newastle and Bournemouth. D / Baines / $5,100

Baines has wiped the floor with many of his rivals for Saturday’s contest as shown in our custom stats’ table built for DraftKings’ scoring criteria, below. Given that the DraftKings’ scoring format allows you to score 0.75 points per cross, Baines should always be considered with set-piece duties in his armory. The Everton full-back has scored 7 points from his crosses already this season. When analyzing the table below in more detail we learn that the marauding left-back is joint-first for interceptions, with four, third for tackles won, with four, and joint-third for shots, with two, when compared against other defenders that are worth selecting in Saturday’s contest. M / Walcott / $7,400

Walcott tops the list across the midfielders worth picking for Saturday’s contest when we look at expected goals (1.3) across the opening three games. Given that there are 10 points on offer for goals in DraftKings, this stat is the main one to sway us this week. The Everton midfielder also ranks fourth for expected assists with 0.4, ahead of Pedro, Zaha, Silva and Sterling as can be seen in our custom stats table below. Huddersfield look likely to concede goals in this one according to our predicted points & stats feature, with an 80% chance of conceding, and Everton are expected to score 1.79 goals according to the same feature. F / Agüero / $11,100

Agüero will consume a fair bit of your budget this week. In fact, no other player is more expensive than the Argentinian forward in this Saturday’s contest. Agüero has averaged more shots per 90 mins (with 5.33) than any other standout selection, as can be seen in the info-graphic below of our custom stats’ table  for DraftKings’ scoring criteria. DraftKings offers 1 point per shot, and an additional 1 point for a shot on target, so this bodes well for Agüero’ owners. Looking across the same players shown below, the Man. City forward is also joint-third for expected assists (0.3) per 90 mins, and joint-second for tackles won (0.66) which provide owners with 6 and 1 point respectively. Agüero is a selection that looks good value for money, particularly as Newcastle are predicted to have a 86% chance of conceding according to our predicted points & stats feature.
