In this blog, the Fix Algorithm projections for the 4.5 defenders in Fantasy Premier League (FPL) are analysed.
The Wolves wing-back duo of Ait-Nouri (24.2) and Jonny (23.9) top the projections for 4.5 defenders. As the below image shows, the Midlands side are top of the Fixture Planner for the first six gameweeks and they offer great potential for points at both ends of the pitch.
Arsenal are ranked fifth in the looking at the same image above and Tomiyasu (20.3) is arguably underpriced due to his injury issues at the tail end of the season. Brighton were sixth for 'Expected Goals' conceded (45.34) last season and are also ranked highly in sixth. Dunk (20.5) was ranked sixth amongst defenders in this price bracket for shots in the box (SiB) (19) last season and has received a price drop to 4.5.
Rotating 4.5 defenders has been a successful strategy in the past as it allows FPL managers to play the fixtures as well as provide bench depth for their squads. With Wolves defenders the highest projected over the first six gameweeks, the Fix Rotation planner recommends rotating them with Leicester defenders for the first six gameweeks to provide the fixture run as shown in the below image.
The Foxes do not have any European commitments this season and offer plenty of attacking full-back options with Justin (9.8) and Castagne (12.3) both projected low due to their limited minutes last season. The duo have the opportunity to hit the ground running this campaign with a full pre-season behind them and offer great value at just 4.5 each.
