With Haaland a lock in most managers' squads, the other two forward positions are critical to Fantasy Premier League (FPL) qsuccess and in this blog some of the budget options are compared using the Fix Comparison Matrix feature for the last six gameweeks.

Aleksandar Mitrović

As the above image from our Stats Sandbox feature shows, no player across the league has taken more shots than Mitrović (56) over the season so far and the Serbian international is top of of the comparison for goals per game (0.8), shots (6.3), shots on target (SoT) (1.5), attempted assists (1.3) and 'big chances' (1.3). With Fulham having a confirmed double gameweek in 19 he seems an obvious pick but it is worth mentioning that he is currently on four yellow cards, just one booking away from a one-match suspension.

Callum Wilson

C. Wilson started for Newcastle in their 1-0 win over Bournemouth in the Carabao Cup which places him in good stead to start their Boxing Day fixture away to Leicester. Even though he averages 5.0 points per game, his underlying numbers are not great with the forward ranked bottom in the comparison for shots (2.3), SoT (1.0), attempted assists (0.7), while he is also second-bottom for attempted assists (0.7) and 'big chances' (0.7).
