Arsenal are eight points clear at the top of the Premier League table and with a double gameweek coming up in gameweek 23, their assets are of keen interest to Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers. In this blog, their attacking assets are compared to determine the best picks going forward.
The above image from our Fix Comparison Matrix feature compares the numbers for their attackers over the last six gameweeks. Averages are used since Nketiah only started playing after Jesus was injured at the World Cup.
Saka is joint-second for FPL points per game (5.3) over the aforementioned period but his underlying numbers in terms of goal threat are quite poor. He averages only one shot per game and one shot on target (SoT) every other game (0.5) along with only 0.3 'big chances'. He is top for chances created (2.7) and looks to be the creative hub of the team.
The most popular of Arsenal's FPL assets, Martinelli, has matched Saka for FPL points per game (5.3) but averages 2.3 shots per game which is significantly more than Saka's 1.0. His accuracy leaves a lot to be desired, with only 0.8 SoT per game and he is bottom for 'big chances' (0.2). His creativity numbers are also nothing extraordinary with 1.5 chances created per game.
We've helped over half-a-million people become better FPL managers.
