Born in a suburb of Brussels, Tielemans is a product of the Anderlecht youth system and made his debut for the Belgian club in 2013. He became the youngest Belgian to ever feature in the Champions League when he started against Olympiacos aged just 16 years and 148 days. He went on to win the Belgian Professional Footballer of the Year awards in each of his first two seasons. He scored a total of 26 goals in 139 appearances for Anderlecht before signing for Monaco in May 2017 for a fee of £22.5 million. His spell at the French club was largely unsuccessful and he scored only five goals in 47 appearances. He was then loaned to Leicester in January 2019 and managed three goals and five assists in just 13 games which led to the club signing him on a permanent deal this transfer window. Rodgers preferred to use the Belgian in a centre midfield role, pairing him alongside either Ndidi or Maddison depending on the opposition and his place appears secure in their starting eleven. At a price of just 6.5 in Fantasy Premier League, he is 0.5 cheaper than Maddison and the same price as Perez. Eight goal involvements in 13 matches is an impressive return and if he can deliver the same output again in an attacking Leicester side under Rodgers, he could be one of the bargains of the season.
