A Mali international, Djenepo joined Standard Liege in 2017 from Yeelen Olympique and scored eight goals and laid on four assists in 35 games for the Belgian club. He also scored three goals in five Europa league matches as defenders struggled to deal with his searing pace. The Saints attack struggled to score goals last season and none of their players hit double digits, with Redmond (six) and Ings (seven) their top scorers. Djenepo offers a pacy, direct option to Hasenhüttl and his seven league goals last season indicate that he knows how to find the back of the net. The signing of Adams means that he has an able target man for his crosses and given the Saints’ manager’s commitment to youth and a fast attacking style of play, the Mali international should go straight into their starting lineup. He featured for his country in the African Cup of Nations over the Summer so could miss the first few weeks of the season but at just 5.5 in Fantasy Premier League, he represents an explosive option in a difficult price bracket.
