Born in London in 2000, Sancho joined the Watford academy at the age of seven and transferred to the Manchester City academy at the age of 14. He signed for Borussia Dortmund in 2017 for a fee of £8 million and made his debut for the first team in October that year. He found his feet in the 2018/19 campaign and went on to notch 12 goals and 14 assists that season over 34 appearances. He improved upon that even further in 2019/20 with 17 goals and 16 assists in 32 appearances. He suffered with injuries in 2020/21 but still hit eight goals and 11 assists in 26 matches.

A creator as well as a goalscorer, Sancho will add to the Red Devils’ wide attacking options and will particularly offer an outlet on the right which should help balance their lop-sided attack which has traditionally been reliant on Rashford on the left. He was ranked in the top five players in the league for assists, chances created and big chances created last season which is very impressive considering he only started 24 matches. Capable of playing on either wing, his versatility should mean that he is one of the more nailed players for the Manchester side. It is worth noting that he is more of a goal threat on the left side while he is more creative on the right. Last season 18 of his 67 chances created were from set-pieces and it remains to be seen if he is afforded those duties with Shaw and B. Fernandes both relied upon. He is likely to be thrown straight into the starting lineup by Solskjær and is possibly undervalued at just 9.5m. At 2.5m cheaper than the more popular B. Fernandes, the Englishman offers a real alternative route into the Red Devils’ attack for their kind run of fixtures at the start of the season and is worthy of FPL investment.
