Dortmund signed Pulisic in February of 2015 and after scoring 10 goals and assisting 8 in his first 15 games, he was promoted to the first team. Chelsea signed the young American in January 2019 and loaned him back to Dortmund for the remainder of the season, keeping their summer transfer ban in mind. Pulisic is considered the poster-boy for American soccer worldwide and the move stands to benefit Chelsea greatly in terms of their visibility and commercial presence in the United States. In terms of output, over the last two seasons Pulisic’s numbers in the Bundesliga may not seem very impressive, especially considering how many goals Dortmund score. However, his final season was plagued by injuries and he still managed 4 goals and 4 assists in the 20 matches he featured. In a total of 90 Bundesliga appearances he racked up a total of 31 goal involvements (13 goals, 18 assists), at an average of one every three games, which is decent. Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers looking to him as a replacement for Hazard need to exercise caution. The 20-year-old is still a very raw talent and should be given a few games to get acclimatised to the physicality of the Premier League. His versatility and ability to play in any attacking role is a great asset and should see him feature on the team sheet often once he is settled.
