West Ham are certainly showing ambition in the transfer market. Having already broke their club record this season with the £22M arrival of centre back Issa Diop, plus the acquisitions of Jack Wilshire and Lukas Fabianski, the Hammers now welcome Ukrainian winger Andriy Yarmolenko to the club.

Yarmolenko had a fine career in his homeland and is his country's second highest scorer on the international stage, scoring 35 goals in 77 games, a record second only to Andriy Shevchenko. Playing for Dynamo Kiev, Yarmalenko's stats are equally impressive. He registered 10 goals or more in 7 consecutive seasons from 2010/11 to 2016/17, totalling 88 goals from 184 appearances during that spell. His  record in the Champions League is also decent, scoring 7 goals and 9 assists in 23 games over his last 3 seasons with Kiev.

This kind of form obviously attracted a lot of interest and last season he eventually moved on to Borussia Dortmund for a reported £25M. His time in the Bundesliga seemingly did not go well though. He made 13 appearances, scoring just 3 goals, and the German club have seen fit to move him on and at loss after just one season. West Ham fans will be hoping that was just a blip. Fantasy managers may well be more cautious. The step up in quality from Ukrainian league to the Bundesliga and now the Premier League is of course a big one. West Ham's overall investment and Yarmalenko's his eye for goal, however, will certainly be enough to earn the Ukranian a place on the preseason FPL watchlist.
