The signing of Morata was a bit of a surprise, having been heavily linked with Manchester United, before the Red Devils also surprised many with the signature of Lukaku. Morata, is widely regarded by football pundits as a "clever" footballer, one whose movement is deemed more effective than that of a Lukaku. The Spaniard is a competent dribbler of the ball, has an eye for long shots, and is not afraid to lay the ball off to his teammates if he deems that they have a better chance of scoring - Something that could bode well for the likes of Fàbregas, Pedro and Willian owners. Similarly to Costa, he does not mind putting his body on the line either to win possession, but is often booked as a result (8 yellows in 26 appearances last season). However, the one record that stands out the most from 2016/17, for all the right reasons, was his goals/assists to minutes ratio. Morata managed to score 15 goals and assist five, in just 1,331 minutes (which equates to 14.79 games). That is an attacking return every 66.55 minutes. He has the physicality for the Premier League, but will need to adapt quickly if he is to offer anywhere near those level of returns.
